Flipping the pages of a comic book was a taboo when i was small kid...that's when dad told me to stay away from them as reading them would fetch me nothing.
its been many years since that lesson i learned. one fine day a guy named Christopher Nolan who shook me from the inside by defying my dad's beliefs and creating new laws of his own which forced us to follow them..i ally in every nerve of my brain and i cannot find even a single day when i did not think of the characters i read be it chacha chaoudhary or super commando Dhruv...Nolan read about some other characters and took that world seriously, so he decided to take it further then just being into the 2D world. Those characters rose to reality from the pages as if they always wanted to and they chose Nolan to be their reason or angel. something that hangs from the branches or shelf edges in the dark, a breed of flying mammals can be someone's hero...from the wings to legs, a voice to body language, from the claws to the lethal invincible weapons, from an entry to the unwanted intrusion everything was accepted. not because v wanted it to be like this but because he wanted to.
When you have a lot of marbles, you cannot decide how to set them logically in your treasure chest. Nolan knows how to set anything in the closet, be it anything from a marsupial to an amphibian that too in a closet which is meant to keep a record of one's outfits.
The Dark Knight introduced some friends who couldn't spread their aroma in "Rises" may be it was planned or it was intended by those individuals, but the Joker in the dark knight left a scar on every viewer's dreams with its weird but different stories, zeal to set an example of a different league of criminal, mark on the face, crazy soul, sense of what he was doing and wanted to do, someone who knows that he is a "no one to mass" but a lot to himself. "Heath Ledger" from the fame of The Patriot, Broke Back Mountain, Casanova and last but not the least Candy. All these works of his made him a different icon for the mass and for the heterosexuals but Joker was someone which was yet to come and it came and how!
Harvey Dent(Aaron Eckhart) who carried a different image altogether turned into a riddle for the viewers. He lived stories like Thank you for Smoking, Paycheck, Love Happens, etc. From being the youngest district attorney to the two face, he provided the actual spice and chicken soup for the nightmare of batman and commissioner Gordon, there was a lot of ambivalence to be defied and and had to conquer. All this while there is a connection between the real world and the virtual one, Christian Bale from The Machinist's "trevor" to the Bruce Wayne and Batman of The Dark Knight and Rises travelled through generations psychologically.
The Dark Knight Rises indeed served many twists and turns with the added secret recipe and spice named by the name of Bane(Tom Hardy) who played Eames in another milestone of Nolan "Inception"
made a place in Nolan's mind, may be Nolan did not think of making him the shaft of Rises or may have thought about it, this hardly makes any difference now as Bane has become immortal with his stout and bulky physique and a horrifying mask covering his only pain in life. Every bit of the clock is spent in defeating this two legged giant who turns out to be just an escort to the antagonist Miss Miranda Tate, one gorgeous face who hid all the evilness under her eyelashes and a million dollar seductive smile. The Dark Knight rises serves us with all the essential spices a story can have.
One Protagonist who is the Batman/Bruce(Christian Bale) who knows the meaning of right and wrong, one loyal help Alfred(Michael Caine) who is more then a family to Bruce after his dad and mom perished, a friend Selina(Anne Hathaway) who knew the exact art of making things disappear which she might have started with committing larceny, a friend and a colleague like Fox(Morgan Freeman), commissioner Gordon(Gary Oldman), etc.
With the help of some technology and the human brain Nolan has created Gotham and its problems worth watching. I find myself helpless in even summing up The Dark Knight Rises in a disciplined because there is just one Nolan and there should be only one of its own kind.
The only statement that deserves to be the post script says :-
"From the comic books in the book shelves, Nolan taimed live mannequins and converted them into the characters of a comic book of celluloid."
